Spewf 3.0… scandalous!

So Kevin wants to start up Spewf again. I think he’s crazy, but I am probably going to do it with him.

Why you need to read Spewf more.

Hey guys, this is Dexter, new here on Spewf.com.

I figure I was brought in for the little comic relief and sports expertise I can provide. I hope to have a longer stay here, and I’ll bring what I can to the table.

Here’s to hoping spewf becomes much larger and more successful,

Girls + Rascal Flatts = ??

RASCAL FLATTS. I swear all girls love Rascal Flatts, doesn’t matter who the girl is. Well probably about 97.8% like them. Think about every girl you have dated or every girl you know and think of how many actually dont like them. More than likely its probably about 2 out of a 100. I don’t know why girls are so obsessed with them but then again girls are weird.

I do like some of their songs but i am not a crazy addict or anything.

The best tip for impressing a girl would be knowing some rascal flatts or you could make it look like you dont know them so the girl lets you listen to them.

Therefore Girls + Rascal Flatts = Heaven

“Something Interesting about me….”

So everyone knows that on the first day of any class the teacher is going to ask everyone something to get to know them. Usually they write it down on an information card or they ask a question to each student during the universal name game. My first day of psychology 101 this semester was a very interesting day.

The teacher wanted to know your name and something interesting about you so she could tie it to your name. My friend/ex-roommate, Brett, were discussing what we were going to say just because this can always be a stupid question. So we tried to think up something witty, but ended up just coming up with something generic.

There was one kid, tall and scrawny with a pony tail, who just seemed to be a little out there. He said his name, which I do not even remember and said “Something interesting about me is that I L.A.R.P. and if you do not know what that is, it is an abbreviation for Live Action Role-Playing.”

The Final Four, Come On

It’s really hard to believe that North Carolina, Kansas, Memphis, and UCLA are the four number one seeds. This has never happened before, four number one seeds in the final four. If the pattern continues throughout the final four then North Carolina will win since they are the overall number one seed in the tourney.

I’m not going to lie, its awesome having four number one seeds in the final four. I mean, after all they are supposedly the best teams in NCAA basketball since they are number one, duh. My problem with having all number one seeds is where in the hell is the Cinderella team? The team who played their hearts out? The team that killed most peoples brackets?

Without having these teams it just simply makes the tournament not as exciting, it makes it typical and less exciting. Any team that makes it to the final four deserves to be there obviously but it is boring.

Next Year: Please Please Please have some HUGE upset where it makes it more interesting.

Five on Five 4-3-08

Five on Five is a section on Spewf where five random quotes, jokes, scores, stories, or anything else we can imagine are displayed for everyone to see.

Random Facts

1. It takes about 20 seconds for a red blood cell to circle the whole body.

2. On average, a 4-year-old child asks 437 questions a day. (My kid is going up for adoption before his forth birthday)

3. The average person over fifty will have spent 5 years waiting in lines. (I’ve spent plenty. I like self checkout)

4. If coloring weren’t added to Coca-Cola, it would be green. (That could be cool)

5. 60% of statistics are made up… (Is that made up?)

*All facts courtesy of www.armenianteens.com except number 5 which was one I have heard before.

Motivation, Such an Aggrivation

I normally wouldn’t write a post about something classy or inspirational. Just because it is not really my style. However, today I have been in a really good mood due to some decisions I have made.

I never thought my college 101 class would teach me this much, but answering all the homework questions about Goals, Moods, and my life style have made me realize what I want out of life.

Take the time to analyze yourself and figure out if you are on the right track. Do you want what you currently have? Or would something be better? I found that some aspects of my life are taking me no where and I need to find something better.

I also found that setting a goal that can better you is a real motivator in getting oneself to do things. The goal I set today made me realize that somethings I was wasting my time on were hindering my productivity. It made me forget about the things I shouldn’t be doing and start doing things that will not only benefit me, but make me happy in the short run and the long run.

I don’t really expect anyone to have their lives changed by this, but I did want to share this with the few current Spewf readers. It helped me and maybe setting a goal or two can help you.

Skipping Class is for Rebels

Have you ever walked past the library when the first class of the day started and realized how many people are in there? We’re you wondering what they all were doing there so early?

They were skipping class. There is no way they all decided to show up at 7 o’clock to hang out in the library. They must have skipped class, but I do not know what their thought process was.

They might have not done there homework so they were too scared to go to class, but none of them were working on it. I just do not understand why someone would show up that early and do nothing.

I’d personally rather sleep in. Skipping class to sit in a library is a waste of time.

Earth Hour 8PM

I just watched a pretty damn convincing video about Earth Hour. Earth hour, which started last year, has a goal to show everyone that the world can unite on one cause. This one cause is Global Warming. The idea behind it is pretty good, last year they did pretty good for it being in only Sydney, Australia. This year there are many other cities involved across the nation, some huge cities are: Atlanta, Chicago, and San Fransisco.

Go to http://www3.earthhourus.org/ and check it out. They did a good job on it.

Punk Goes Pop

So today I added a Music Category because I love music and I want to share it with all the Spewf Readers.

On a side note, Punk just went Pop when Fall Out Boy decided to cover Michael Jackson’s Hit “Beat It.” With the help of John Mayer, Fall Out Boy was able to recreate the squealing guitars used in the original version to a new “raunchier” sound. Listen to the Solo, it’s my favorite part.

I recently bought the song from the iTunes Music Store and it already has 22 plays.

Check it out!
